We are thrilled to welcome Bruce and Jean J. to the Outer Reef family as the proud new owners of M/Y Marai’ (pronounced Mar-I), a beautifully customized 820 Deluxbridge Motoryacht. The name Marai’, derived from the Gaelic word for seafarer, reflects both Bruce and Jean’s Celtic heritage—Jean being of Irish descent and Bruce born in the UK to Scottish parents. A fitting name for a yacht destined to explore the world by sea.

Based in Stuart, Florida, Marai’ will cruise extensively along the East Coast, with summer seasons spent in New England—a region close to Bruce and Jean’s hearts, having lived and worked in Boston for many years and currently enjoying a summer home on Cape Cod.

But the journey doesn’t stop there. Their grand adventure includes plans to cruise the Mediterranean, which played a key role in their decision to build a yacht uniquely suited to global cruising. Outfitted with a global electrical system (ASEA), a wastewater treatment plant (Headhunter HMX), and an Opacmare transformer passerelle/swim platform, Marai’ is ready for European ports as well as unforgettable coastal experiences.

Other standout features include the Deluxbridge configuration—allowing for a spacious skylounge that doubles as an office and mini-gym—and a welcoming country-style galley perfect for entertaining. And in true Outer Reef spirit, even the family cat was considered, with a custom Litter Robot installation and cabin access via cat door—though not an ORY first!

M/Y Marai’ will be a crewed yacht, and Bruce and Jean placed high priority on providing a comfortable, beautifully finished crew area—just one of many reasons they chose Outer Reef Yachts.

Please join us in congratulating Bruce and Jean on this incredible milestone! We look forward to seeing Marai’ at anchor in New England, med-moored in the South of France, or anywhere else her adventurous spirit takes her.
