"We’ve had a fantastic time cruising the south coast of Cornwall and Devon. It’s also given me a new perspective on how the rivers and harbors of southwest England helped develop one of the strongest maritime histories and trade networks the world has ever seen. I’ve loved how the harbors and towns we’ve visited have been shaped by the landscape and waterscape around them, each their own distinct sense of place. I’ve loved seeing the different designs of the local sailing fleet reflecting the unique characters of the harbors they sail, imagining the ships of the Pilgrims, Cook, Darwin, Drake, the Crusades and others off to change world history (for better or worse), watching the tall ship TS Royalist cruise past the whistling steam trains of the Industrial Revolution. And I’ll think of Agatha Christie’s own library the next time I curl up with Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple on a dark and stormy night." - Amy and Joe L.
