John Dennison boasts more than 40 years of experience in marine related industries. His enthusiasm for boats and the sea began soon after college when he hitchhiked across the South Pacific. With his 500 ton U.S. Coast Guard Masters License, John has captained private power and sailing yachts up to 125' and was the captain of a 148' oceanographic research vessel which he ran for a year from West Africa to the U.S. John was also skipper on Alan Bond's Yacht Southern Cross II during the 1983 America's Cup. Prior to joining Outer Reef Yachts, John was a sales director at Epic Yachting handling new and brokerage sales, served a versatile role at Selene Annapolis Yachts, completing sales, marketing, brokerage, consulting and project management functions for the quality trawler company.
John's experiences also include over three years as a broker for Little Harbor Yacht Brokers in Fort Lauderdale, five years as a Service and Production Manager for the Selene line at Ted Hood's Portsmouth Marine in Rhode Island and over 18 years as owner of Lone Star Marine Services based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he developed an intimate knowledge of yachts of all sizes. He has overseen major refits on yachts up to 125 feet.
