Our service team, led by Captain Randy Ives, Commissioning/Warranty/Service/Training Director has been running yachts of all shapes and sizes for decades, all around the world. He manages a team who is at the ready to assist with your yachting service needs. The Outer Reef Yachts service team offers 92 years of experience, cumulatively.

We had a very comprehensive orientation which started with fuel system (made something that looks rediculously complicated and made it simple) to the anchor system and everything in between. He was there Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday after just flying back from Taiwan (Outer Reef Yacht's shipyard). He made sure we knew the boat as best one can in such a short time. & Service Program

Increase Value, Marketability and Improve After-Survey Results with the Outer Reef Pre-Sales/Survey Inspection & Service Program

Selling your yacht is an important milestone, one that takes meticulous preparation and planning for a successful transaction. They say, "you never get a second chance at making a great first impression," when a qualified buyer is ready to take the next step and preview your yacht.

Increase value, marketability and improve after-survey results with the Outer Reef Pre-Sales/Survey Inspection & Service Program. Schedule a comprehensive multi-checkpoint analysis and follow-up service work with the Outer Reef Service Department, prior to initial inspection, survey and sea trials.



Our certified technicians' pre-sales inspection includes, but not limited to:

  • Inspection of hull and superstructure finish
  • Inspection of exterior hatches, hinges and overall cleanliness
  • Interior inspection for general condition
  • Visual inspection of engines, generators, belts, hoses, filters, sea strainers, bonding wires and electrical connections for leaks, excess wear and corrosion
  • Visual inspection of engine cooling system for signs of leaks and excessive corrosion
  • Check battery condition and terminals
  • Check bilges for overall cleanliness and evidence of water, oil or any other leaks
  • Check water maker for visual signs of leaking, condition of membranes and service history
  • Check the engine room fire suppression system for current inspections and operation
  • Check fresh water pumps for operation and/or possible leaks
  • Check macerator pumps for operation and/or possible leaks
  • Check that the thru hull valves and seacocks move freely
  • Check hose clamps for corrosion and integrity
  • Check operation of electronics, hydraulic system, davit and anchoring system
  • Check shower sump pumps
  • Check operation and condition of the air conditioning system
  • Check that the USCG required safety equipment is on board and certified, including life rafts and handheld fire extinguishers

This program applies to all motoryacht brands.

Pro-actively inspecting and servicing your yacht, from aesthetics to mechanical systems, adds value and ease to the process of successfully selling your yacht. A well-maintained vessel, prior to inspection and survey will mitigate significant after-survey adjustments to the sales price.
