Cape Horn here I come

September 16, 2015

Well boys I played Victory at Sea. On my way to Campbell River I needed to pass Seymour Narrows.  You can read the Coast Pilot.  Essentially it cautioned that boats traversing the narrows should only go at slack tide.  Being a New Yorker with no patience I went thru at high tide. I never moved the engine RPMs beyond 1200. Steered the mid channel with 10 knot currents and a 15 knot wind.  ARGO hit a top end speed of 19.8 knots at 1200 RPMs.
